Paddy river canal — these three are Barisal. Banaripara upazila of Barisal, on the banks of Sandhya river. Hundreds of boats floated on the river. Paddy is sold. Paddy-rice warehouse by the river. There are also some rice mills. There is rice from paddy. Molla, Bepari, Mridha, the noise of the chiefs. Hats have been sitting here for almost two hundred years. Traders came from far and wide. Sell ​​paddy and buy rice. In 2017, BBC Travel published seven places of interest in Bangladesh. This floating hat is one of them.
Banaripara is famous for Balam rice. This rice is thin. Most are in Banaripara. Apart from Balam, Godai and Aus rice are also available. In terms of quality, the rice here is better than other places.
From paddy to rice you have to go through many steps in the middle. Those who do this work are called Kutial. The cottages bought paddy and soaked it in boats. In the morning, boil it in a tafale (large oven) on a boat (boiling pot) and dry in the sun for the next two to three days. Then when the rice is mixed and broken, the rice comes out nicely. Until a few days ago there were about twenty five thousand cottages in this upazila.
Due to river erosion, business recession, modern machinery, etc., the population of this profession has decreased. Here rice is made in a completely indigenous way. There is no such thing as coloring the rice, polishing it and so on.

Traders from Barguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Pirojpur and other districts come here to sell paddy. Later they bought rice and returned home.
