Background of Banaripara Upazila: The location of Banaripara upazila of Barisal district is between 22 এবং 5-15 'and 90-45' longitude. The total area of ​​Banaripara upazila is 134.34 sq. Km. It is bounded on the north by uzirpur upazila, on the south by jhalkathi sadar upazila and on nesharabad, on the west by nazirpur upazila and on the east by uzirpu upazila. There are different opinions about the naming of this upazila. According to many people, there was a time when many monkeys lived in Banaripara.

  

Secondly, it is heard that the word Banaripara was coined from the word Bania as it was once the business of the merchant community and their livelihood.
