Functions of Upazila Parishad
Approval of all development proposals / projects and estimates related to the handed over subject.
 Implementation of all other development projects assigned to the Upazila Parishad by the Government from time to time.
 Adoption of Pancheshala and annual development plan of Upazila Parishad and updating of plan book.
 Adoption of annual development plan of the council.
Approval of work plan and estimate to be implemented by Upazila Parishad.
 Review, monitor and evaluate fortnightly progress of all types of development work implemented.
 Adoption of Upazila Parishad Fund Investment Plan.
Management of establishment matters of all the employees of the council including the officers and employees engaged in deputation by the government.
Receiving money on behalf of the upazila.
• Issuance / approval of license permit and notice on behalf of the upazila.
 Disposal of all crimes committed under the Upazila Parishad.
 Disposal of any offense under the Upazila Parishad Act.
Filing and handling cases on behalf of Upazila Parishad.
Functions of Upazila Parishad
Formation of various committees and sub-committees for development work.
 Execution of various agreements for implementation of work by Upazila Parishad.
 Conduct all other activities of Upazila Parishad.
 Review of law and order situation in the upazila.
• Review the relief and rehabilitation work of the upazila and take necessary steps.
 Adoption of all taxes, rates, tolls, fees and other levies and other taxes levied / imposed.
